Political parties are essentially organizations independent of the Government that have a prepared set of motives, desires, needs and ideals which they use as a platform. They trick voters into believing that, instead of picking the one candidate of hundreds that most represents their motives, desires, needs and ideals; they must pick between two possible party platforms.

By establishing voter loyalt to party rather than candidate they are placing themselves as a filter between the Government and its people. The party can choose how its supporters will vote. This puts the party, a group interested only in the motives, desires, needs and ideals of its platform (and not its counterpart, or those outside the party) in control of the Government. It is not in the interest of the voter, then, to vote for his own motives, desires, needs and ideals. Rather, his interest is to vote for the party in power and sacrifice whatever of his motives, desires, needs and ideals deviate from the standard platform. This undermines the role of the government which is to serve the motives, desires, needs and ideals of the people.

Political parties have taken to armed banditry and derailed the locomotive of American Government for the sake of financial, corporate, private and sectarian interests.

But there is a solution; reform of the way we vote. At the moment voters have very few choices because for each position they are offered only two candidates (one from each major political party) one of which will decide upon, draft, and enact measures that are meant to be dictated by the motives, desires, needs and ideals of the voters. The presidential election is even more hopeless because it isn’t decided by popular election.

Members of Congress often campaign on a platform which includes “returning the vote to the people”. They mean to say that they will fairly represent the interests of those citizens who give them the vote. But when these very campaigns are financed by a political party, the candidate has no choice but to be loyal to the party’s interest; Not to would be ungrateful. The party invests in the candidate so that they can see a return on that investment.

To circumvent the party’s control, we really do have to return the vote to the people. Change the role of congress from voting on laws to submit to the president to execute, to merely drafting the legislation to be returned to the people for a popular vote.

Back in the 1780′s when the legislative branch was set up, communicating was a long, slow process. Popular voting took months to complete, as horses had to ferry results across the continent. It was much more practical then to elect a representative and send them to one central location to do the voting in place of the populace.

Now, our representatives no longer represent us; they represent party interests. And we have the speedy technology available to us now to popularize legislative voting. Why not return the vote to the people who are capable of representing themselves?

They should fill congress with powerful creative individuals who can craft legislation that truly represents our motives, desires, needs and ideals. How can we escape the influence of party politics on the electoral process?

By reforming the way we vote.
Rather than choosing only one candidate our of the available two (one from each party), it would better represent the motives, desires, needs and ideals of the people to implement a system whereby candidates are ordered by preferance and assigned a numeric rank (first choice, second choice, etc.). Then, with all the ballots the ranks of each candidate are added up. Nationally, the candidate with the lowest score is elected. This process gives a larger, more diverse group of candidates a better chance of being elected.

When it comes to electing our commander-in-chief, who leads foreign policy and chief executive powers for our country, this new process would open up new possibilities to move in directions our country has never gone before.

It’s up to us to take our right to vote and the reigns of our government back from political piracy.

God is in my brain ticking away each momentand in every brain in one brain in my brain God is counting measures conducting his instrument but can I be said to be the orchestra entire? When it hit, I left my body and seemed to sense a blackness like a board of everything. Cut out and silhouetted in a shallower black I saw the shape of my body. Then, where my shoulders were I saw on one side the waxing and on the other side the waning moon. On my forehead it was full and all three burned and spun with white light that felt like it was cold enough to kill God. I was afraid that God was dead, but then I realized that I was being loved by a green creature on a new white and it sang to me in a slow voice. Then, a pink lotus carried me back into my hearing as I sang with it. As I approached myself traveling through sound I realized that everything and God is the music of me.
